Today I wanted to talk about one of the lesser known webcam sites, iFriends.

Every couple years or so, a new cam site shows up that starts very small and then blows up.  First it was LiveJasmin, and a couple years ago it was iFriends. Though it has since decreased in popularity, iFriends boasts an impressive 11.8 million registered users!  The high webcam model commission (iFriends models are referred to as “Video Chat Hosts”) makes it an inviting business opportunity.

Here are the basics of what you need to know about becoming an iFriends video chat host:

The Pros

High Commission: Set your own cost and charge up to $9.99 per minute!  Make 50% commission with NO exceptions, and 100% commission from every member you refer to the iFriends network! You can also earn extra income offline with FanClubs, replays (previously recorded shows), and telephone calls.

Strong Following: Though not as big as the cam giant LiveJasmin, the iFriends network has a loyal following with many “high roller” members (the conversion rates prove this). There is no exclusivity required, so you can work as many cam networks as you like and enjoy multiple revenue streams (learn more about working for multiple cam sites at the same time).

Privacy Protection: Don’t want your friends or family to find you online? No problem, iFriends lets you set privacy zones by zip, state, or country.

The Cons

Competition: The high commission payouts attract more money-motivated cam models.  Because of this high level of competition, new models will do better with beginner friendly sites like LiveJasmin.

10% Holding: iFriends pay hosts on a weekly basis via Payoneer, Direct Deposit (USA only), or check. Please note that they will hold 10% of your earnings for 6 months to cover for any charge backs. Another thing which I can’t figure is that you have to receive a check first before you can receive payments via Payoneer.

On the surface, the iFriends job looks great with their high commission and user-friendly model interface. But this is truly a case where opinions mean nothing and results are everything. If you have never done webcam modeling before, I recommend you stay clear of iFriends simply because new models will earn more on LiveJasmin (read my LiveJasmin review and becoming a sponsored model for details about the promotion period for new LiveJasmin performers.) That said, if you’ve already had some success as a webcam model, then you might want to look into this one.
